July 1960
Founded by the late chairman, Hiroshi Suzuki. Opened the dive shop "Nippon Scuba" in Chuo-ku, Tokyo. At the same time started the manufacturing and sales of wet suits.
1965
Relocated headquarters to Shimizu, Meguro-ku, Tokyo.
1968
Established Nippon Scuba, Ltd.
1970
Relocated headquarters to Takaban, Meguro-ku, Tokyo. Manufacturing of dry suits start.
1974
Opened Ryotsu, Niigata branch. Manufactured and sold the "Hokkai (6.5WJ)" professional diving dry suit.
1977
Changed organization's name to Nippon Scuba Sensui Co., Ltd.
1979
Production sale of the world's only "O Style Dress" dry suit.
1981
Changed organization to Nippon Scuba Sensui, Inc. At the same time established factory in Kisarazu, Chiba and started production sales of the "O Style Dress" variant and "O Style Pro Series". Since then the product becomes a hit.
1987
Started the production sale of the world's first radial material dry suit "Pro Dry Suit: RD Series" and "Sports Dry Suit: Explorer Series". Developed dry suit inner wear (polyester fleece) "Submarine", and "weight belt & vest", "ankle weights" for weight distribution.
1988
To spread dry suit awareness, produced the promotional video "Sports Dry Suits: ZERO Series" shot in Utoro, Hokkaido.
1990
Releases the sports dry suit "Fuzzy Print Pattern". Also, started the sale of "Entrant α" material used in the "Submarine III" inner wear.
1992
Nippon Scuba Sensui, Inc. establishes the commercial division ZERO Co., Ltd.
1994
Company strives in the development of cold weather products. Starts the production sales of the 7mm thick hot boots.
1996
Develops their very own radial jersey helmet type diving suit.
1997
Becomes Trelleborg's (Sweden) Japan distributor, starts the sale of the "Viking" dry suit.
1999
Starts overseas export. Holds 90% share of domestic dry suit market. Starts production sale of the Mantis Full Face mask, co-development with Mask.
2000
Starts sales of underwater acoustic equipment and emergency surface air supply units (emergency measure items).
2001
Starts production sales of air compressors, air reserve tanks, and air purification equipment (emergency measure items).
2002
Starts the sales of underwater wired CCD video camera equipment.
2003
Starts the sales of "Eye Sea" diving navigation system.
2004
Starts the sales of the Kepler material dry suit "KDR-15".
2005
Starts the sales of the world's only international patented sound wave product "Dive Talk".
2006
Started the production sales of the "RD II" (2mm thick radial) dry suit which until now was thought to be impossible. Started the sales of small diving items and the "IW-2000/IW-3000" high thermal inner wear for extreme cold conditions.
2007
Setup West Japan Sales Division in Kobe, Hyogo. Started sales of radial material beach wear "Radial Coat & Jacket".
2009
Started sales of "2 Way 2/4 Person" wired underwater phone system.
2010
The "world's first" company, meeting it's 50th anniversary, starts production slaes of the patented HYBRID dry suit "K's Series".
2012
Starts the sales of wired/wireless underwater alarm systems.
2013
Builds and relocates to new factory in Shiohama, Kisarazu.
2014
Launched color radial materials other than black and red (blue, yellow, orange). Purchased sublime material processing machinery.
Started sales of printed material suits. Exclusive distributor of BIG BLUE underwater lights.
Started sales of DIVER MARKER SOS waterproof flare, developed with Hosoya Pyrotechnic Co., Ltd.
2015
Started sales of Outlast® inner wear, material used by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration).
Started the use of Outlast® inner lining material in sports drysuits.
